On Thursday 14th December, staff members across the Billington Holdings Group took part in a number of festive frolics all in the name of charity.
To get us in the mood, staff dug out their favourite festive knits from the back of the wardrobe and paid £1 to the fundraising pot.
The now infamous Christmas Tree Competition hit new heights with all Group Companies joining in. The entries this year were outstanding and surpassed all judge’s expectations. Several entries had a fundraising twist too, adding even more money to the total. Despite the heavy competition, it was our QS-Mas Department who were top of the podium this year – a long-awaited tonic after their bitter defeat back in 2016.
Staff also dished out the dough for the annual Christmas Raffle, in the hope of walking away with one of the fantastic prizes on offer. We were overwhelmed by the generosity of our clients and suppliers who kindly donated an array of glorious gifts, and the luscious loot certainly encouraged staff to dig deep in their pockets!
After all the merriment, and counting the pennies, we are happy to announce that we raised a record-breaking £3,000, which will be split between our three chosen charities: Muscular Dystrophy UK, Bristol Children’s Hospital Grand Appeal and Mind.
All three charities are relevant to a number of colleagues across the Billington Holdings Group and, having seen the amazing work they do, we are over the moon to be able to give something back.
So, from everyone at Shafton Steel Services, we wish you a very Merry Christmas and a bright New Year!
